An Obama Second Term? The Implications

Sometimes, I miss things, or I underestimate their importance at the time. In this case, I blew it – until Mary forwarded an email that really grabbed my attention. Fortunately the author was named, so I could look it up. It is an article from The American Thinker, from May 8, 2012 that I just missed. But I am not missing it now.

It is a very powerful article that speaks to what Obama can accomplish in a second term – even with a Republican Congress and Senate – and it is truly frightening. If you thought that this is just another election, please read this, stand back for a moment, and think again. We simply have to go all out to take the white house to even have a chance. And, even then, it will be an uphill fight to retain our country. It is that bad.

The American Thinker article is here.

Obama at the UN. 9/25/2012

How embarrassing. Obama was at the UN today to address the assembly about the Middle East situation. Well, he delivered a long speech, that was divided into two parts. Both were rather embarrassing blunders by the man that claims the title of president, but fails to live up to the necessities of the office. Sorry, but this post contains two links from Breitbart that you should read.

Obama gave a Mea Culpa, in which he absolved himself from responsibility in the death of our Ambassador and three others in Libya, saying essentially that Marine guards would not have made a difference. Despite the rather obvious fact that they certainly would have. That article is here.

Not content to make an ass out of himself once, he then went on to preach “tolerance” for other’s views. We are not to insult “the Prophet Mohammed”, while they are free to insult all other religions? And not one word about Islamic extremism, let alone terror. You can read that one here.

After you read them, shake your head in wonderment.  How can the polls show him in a draw with Romney?  Easy answer.  The entire media establishment is in the tank for him, and bending the polls in his favor through the sampling selection.  They aren’t exactly lying, but when you have samples skewed at D + 8 or more, they are not telling the truth, either.

Are You Better Offf?

I have little faith in Pew. Despite their claim to be non-partisan, they are liberal to the core. And most of their posts slant that way – to the far left, that is.

So imagine my surprise when I read a survey from Pew that seems to track the reality of the economy today. The only thing lacking (surprise) is the assignment of blame to the policies and regulations of the Obama administration.

Read the Pew article here.

The Oil and Gas Patch

If you thought that things were going well in the drilling industry because of the oil in North Dakota, and the new gas finds in Pennsylvania and Ohio, you might want to reconsider. Things are not going well. They are not even good. They are downright bad, thanks to Obama’s moratorium (permatorium?). As usual, the smaller businesses are the hardest hit. They have no lobbyists or crony clout. One went bust this last week.

There is a link from Red State, following. It is a rather personal story from the oil and gas patch It is a tad long, but very much worth reading. Read it here.

The Obama Doctrine

Yesterday, I got to see the D’Souza film 2016 Obama’s America. Liked it, even though I was aware of most of the factual content.

Today, Heritage has an article that is both coincident with the film, and amplifies on various themes. If you are so inclined, there is a link to previous Heritage work within the article. It is good, but very long. You can read the Heritage article here.

By the way D’Souza has a book out, too. It is “Unmaking the American Dream”, which continues to amplify on the theme.

Could they, Really?

The apparent answer is yes. Per Fox news, Gary Johnson and the Libertarian Party are focused on draining just enough votes away from Mitt Romney to deny him an electoral victory. What are they thinking, if anything?

Even some of our guys are going to Tampa in support of Ron Paul, that has not a snowball’s chance in Hades. What are you thinking?

Let us assume for a minute that, because of the Libertarians, Romney loses, but the House remains Republican, and the Senate gains a Republican majority. Then what?

Obama has already demonstrated that he does not give a fig about the constitution. Or the rule of law. Or the American people. He will rule as a dictator, using regulations by all manner of agencies, and extra-constitutional executive orders to get what he wants, since he will be unable to have it legally passed through the legislature.

Sound familiar? Hugo Chavez, anyone?

By 2016, he will be dictator for life.

You Libertarians need to get a grip. This is not where we have to go.

Catfish Inspection? You have to be kidding

This one has to be filed under “What are you Thinking”. If anything. Two Government agencies to inspect catfish, for crying out loud? And one of them has inspected no fish for $20 M? Excuse me, but the least able private business could do better than this.

We need to get mobilized, and get moving – now

Yet Another Crony Solar Fail

Excuse me, but exactly how many crony solar companies need to fail before Stephen Chu and Dictator Obama get the message that their version of “Green Energy” fails the test of the marketplace? Or is that a standard that they cannot even comprehend?

Are they so blinded by their adherence to the Environmentalist agenda that facts mean nothing?

Here we have a trifecta. Chu, Obama and (dingy Harry) Reid all go down in blazes. More from Heritage, here.

Circulate this, please. We need more people involved and active to insure that we do not repeat the disaster in November.

Obama as Fiscal Conservative? Not so Fast

You have seen it by now. Marketwatch and MSNBC rolled out a chart that purports to prove that Obama is not the big spender that we all know he is.

Heritage has three articles on this, but, honestly, they are all a little weak. Breitbart has a new one that hits it right in the middle. Read it here.

We do have an election coming. Think of this.

Trying to Stifle the Supreme Court?

Opinion by Occam’s Edge

I guess that I would not expect anything other than an attack on the Supreme Court, which is reviewing Obamacare at the moment. But, where is decorum and even a scintilla of respect? Nowhere. This President and administration are totally out of control, and beyond our grasp. (See my previous post for more…)

The details are at Breitbart.com.
